What is Ticket to Work?

The Ticket to Work Program is a work incentive program sponsored by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Ticket to Work offers Social Security disability beneficiaries more choices for supports to prepare, search and obtain employment.

Do I Qualify?

If you are age 18 through 64, and receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSDI) benefits because of your disability, you are eligible to participate in the Ticket to Work program.

As an SSA approved Employment Network, P.I. offers a variety of customized services to assist jobseekers with disabilities in achieving their career/employment goals.

What are the benefits of working with an Employment Network such as P.I.?

Ticket holders receive the support necessary to safely explore work options without immediately losing benefits and find a job that is right for them. As a ticket holder (disability beneficiary) you may also use a combination of Work Incentives to maximize your income until you begin to earn more income on your own.  The advantage to you as a ticket holder:

  • Go to work without automatically losing disability benefits.
  • Return to benefits if for some reason you would need to stop working.
  • Continue to receive healthcare benefits.
